Les Enfants Terribles Theatre Company present THE VAUDEVILLAINS

‘The curtain's up, the stage is set, prepare for a night you'll never forget…’

A MACABRE MUSICAL OF MURDER AND MUSIC HALL

“Razor-sharp theatre group Les Enfants Terribles” (The Telegraph), invite you to The Empire music hall for a night you’ll never forget. But tonight’s show will be a little different as Charlie, the club’s owner, has fallen victim to a murder most foul… but whodunnit?  Could it be nervy knife thrower Ray the Blade; sexy Siamese Striplets; The Cerberus Sisters; deranged ventriloquist Albert Frog; macabre mime artist Gaston Gasteau; or perhaps the mystifying magician – The Great Mephisto…  Everyone’s a suspect as we discover the secrets of all the weird and wonderful acts who have found themselves upon The Empire’s bill.

Written by Oliver Lansley and Tomas Gisby, ‘The Vaudevillains’ is a unique and exciting night out..  From the team that brought you the multi-award winning ‘The Terrible Infants’ and ‘Ernest and The Pale Moon’ - Murder, mystery and mayhem combine with Les Enfants Terribles’ dark, twisted wit and inventive theatricality as they present their brand new musical extravaganza to celebrate their tenth year.

Oliver Lansley is a published playwright (work includes ‘The Infant’ and ‘Immaculate’ published by Nick Hern Books), he also works extensively in television co-creating/writing ITV2's 'FM' and BBC2’s 'Whites' starring Alan Davies. He’s also currently working on the BAFTA winning series ‘Misfits’.  Oliver has previously been named one of the ‘Broadcast Hotshot’s’ by Broadcast magazine and won the ‘Multi-talented’ award at Channel 4’s 4-Talent Awards.

Ernest and the Pale Moon (2009 /2010):

“A company very adept at showing how physicalised
story-telling is at the heart of some of the best theatre
 around”  - THE STAGE

“A gloriously gothic production about obsession.” - THE TELEGRAPH

"An atmospheric & riveting physical theatre experience." - TOTAL THEATRE

The Terrible Infants (2007 - 2010):

“A beautifully-realised slice of vaudevillian puppet theatre that crawls with characters that could have escaped from Lewis Carroll's waste paper basket” - THE EVENING STANDARD

“It's like giving your inner child an enormous sack of sweets and a cuff round the ear” THE METRO

“Every physical theatre trick in the box.” - THE GUARDIAN
